Questions & answers
A clearer starting point.
Explore the essentials of LAMINATE, then discuss the details that matter to your team.
What is LAMINATE?
LAMINATE is Sentinel Cloud Service’s web platform for analysing brain MRI in multiple sclerosis research. Single timepoint analysis, longitudinal analysis and interactive review are parts of one product, in one workspace.
What do we need to run an analysis?
Single timepoint analysis needs one MRI session with a FLAIR and an SWI series. Longitudinal analysis needs two sessions of the same subject, each with a FLAIR and a T1-weighted series. Studies come in as DICOM, either as an uploaded archive or through the on-site gateway connected to your PACS.
Can we compare scans over time?
Yes. Longitudinal analysis compares a baseline and a follow-up session and labels each lesion as new, growing, shrinking, static or gone. It compares two sessions at a time; trends across several visits are not part of LAMINATE yet.
Can we review and edit the results?
Yes. In the viewers you step through lesions, keep or reject them and correct lesion masks, and for single timepoint analysis you score central vein sign and paramagnetic rim by hand. Edits save automatically with a version history. Review stays with your team: LAMINATE does not make a diagnosis.
How is patient data protected?
Studies that arrive through the on-site gateway have patient identifiers replaced before anything leaves your network, and the original identity stays with you. Uploaded archives are de-identified when they are ingested. Data in the cloud is pseudonymized rather than anonymous, and text burned into image pixels is not removed, so scanners should be configured accordingly.
Is LAMINATE approved for clinical use?
No. LAMINATE is intended for research and educational use. It is not FDA-approved and should not be used for clinical diagnosis, treatment decisions or patient care.
Can results go back to our PACS?
For single timepoint analysis, yes: the derived FLAIR* series can be sent back through the on-site gateway to the PACS nodes you have enabled for writing. Longitudinal results are NIfTI volumes and a report today, not DICOM.
Which deployment option should we choose?
Most teams start with the web workspace and add the on-site gateway when studies should flow from their PACS. If you need LAMINATE inside your own environment, talk to us about your requirements.
Can our whole team join a demo?
Yes. Bring the colleagues involved in imaging review, research or deployment. The conversation can cover your workflow and the questions that matter to your team.
Is there a desktop app?
Yes. The desktop app is available for macOS, Windows and Linux. It signs in with your LAMINATE account and lets you import a DICOM folder or zip from your computer and start an analysis. Analyses still run in the cloud, so it needs an internet connection.
Who can do what in a workspace?
A workspace has owners, admins and members. Owners and admins have full access; members can be allowed to upload archives, manage the dataset and run single timepoint or longitudinal analyses. Everyone in the workspace can view results.
Is there an API?
The web and desktop apps use a REST interface, and signed-in users can create API keys in their profile to use it. There is no separate developer portal or published documentation yet; talk to us if you want to script a workflow.
How do we discuss pricing?
Contact the team to discuss your intended use and setup. Pricing is agreed with the team alongside the scope of what you need.
